Cheese fondue

10 fév

The ideal dish for a winter dinner party with friends or family is undoubtedly the cheese fondue. Native of the French Alps, this is Winter’s must east, consisting in a mix of melted french cheese. Serve with dry white wine and a salad (it will help the digestion). Don’t forget, the one who lose its piece of bread has a forfeit!

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Difficulty: Very easy

Ingredients (for 4 people):

-          200 gr of Beaufort

-          200 gr of Comté (or if you can’t find some, you can use cheddar cheese)

-          200 gr of Gruyères

-          50 cl of dry white wine

-          1 pinch of muscade

-          1 garlic clove

-          1 stale French baguette

Rub the pan with the garlic clove. Cut the cheese into small cubes and make it melt in the pan over a gentle heat for about 20 minutes with the white wine and the muscade.

Cut the bread into small cubes.

Enjoy by putting the bread on a fork and dunk it into the melted cheese.
