Strawberries and basil salad

05 juil

The association of strawberries and basil can be surprising, but trust me, they really taste good together! Basil spices up the sweetness of the strawberries and brings some freshness to this salad. You are going to love it (and your guests to!)!

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients (for 2 persons):

- 200 gr of strawberries

- 4 leaves of basil

- 1 drop of orange blossom water

- 4 tablespoons of brown sugar

Rinse the strawberries and remove their stalk. Then cut them into dices and out into a bowl. Add the basil leaves cut into thin slices, the orange blossom water and the sugar.

You can serve right away put it is better to leave the salad rest for around 10 minutes before serving so the ingredients can mix together and reveal their flavour.

Tip: You can replace half of the brow sugar by vanilla sugar to give a more exotic taste.

You can also easily eat it at work during lunchtime (it’s much better than a sandwich!). Here is my refreshing salad recipe, involving tomatoes, cucumber and corn.
